Download Dpinst

If none of the previous three troubleshooting steps have resolved your issue, you can try a more aggressive approach (Note: Not recommended for amateur PC users) by downloading and replacing your appropriate DPInst.exe file version. We maintain a comprehensive database of 100% malware-free DPInst.exe files for every applicable version of IObit Toolbox. Please follow the steps below to download and properly replace you file:

Download Dpinst

CAUTION : We strongly advise against downloading and copying DPInst.exe to your appropriate Windows system directory. IObit typically does not release IObit Toolbox EXE files for download because they are bundled together inside of a software installer. The installer's task is to ensure that all correct verifications have been made before installing and placing DPInst.exe and all other EXE files for IObit Toolbox. An incorrectly installed EXE file may create system instability and could cause your program or operating system to stop functioning altogether. Proceed with caution.

> 1. Extract driver package(ZIP file) to hard disk drive. If you use PKUNZIP(DOS), specify '-d' option. 2. Run dpinst.exe in driver directory. 3. Follow the messages on the screen.

We use the FTDI driver version 2.4.16 that supports both 32-bit and 64-bit Windows. For installing this driver we are using DPInst.exeAccording to this website: -us/library/ms790308.aspx DPInst version 2.1 supports later Windows and Vista versions. Does this mean 64-bit Windows/Vista also?Or should I download one version for 32 bit and another for 64-bit Windows/Vista, as said here: -64bit_install.mspx I would appreciate any help on this.Thanks.

Thank you, Mike. I ran the Kitsetup program to set up WDK. I have three directories - amd64, ia64 and x86, with a dpinst.exe in each.Which one should I use for 64-bit Windows/Vista? I am guessing the amd64/ia64. I tried searching the web for information on this, but found nothing. For some background I am a build/packaging engineer with no idea about device drivers. So excuse the extremely basic questions.Regards,GK.

To target Windows 8.1, Windows 8, and Windows 7, install an older WDK and an older version of Visual Studio either on the same machine or on a separate machine. For links to older kits, see Other WDK downloads.

When you install Visual Studio 2022, select the Desktop development with C++ workload. The Windows 11, version 22H2 Software Development Kit (SDK) that is compatible with the Windows 11, version 22H2 WDK is not included in Visual Studio. Please use the SDK download link in step 2 below.

In this case, a Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) is used and it does not contain any drivers. Therefore, you need to manually download the drivers you need, put them in a folder and then use DPinst.exe to install the drivers.

The /c parameter simply indicates that all output should go to the console instead of a log file. That way, you can easily see what is going on. As soon as I have a x64 Test machine ready, I will expand the batch file a little bit so it will execute dpinst_x64.exe on a 64 bit machine and dpinst_x86.exe on a 32 bit machine. For now I stick with the 32 bit version.

You may also try to run 'dpinst' by using the driver from FileRepository folder. Also there could be several corrupter drivers, so if the installation fails again, look at the logs - there could be another error on another driver.
